Earlier life of Chanchal Chowdhury

Chanchal Chowdhury was born in Kamarhat village of Nazirganj union in Sujanagar Upazila of Pabna district on 1st June 1974. His father’s name is Radha Gobindo Chowdhury and his mother’s name is Nomita Chowdhury. He is equally adept at playing various musical instruments, acting, singing, and painting. The actor is a popular lecturer at Koda, Soda, and Yoda College.

He studied elementary and secondary from the village school and high school from Rajbari Government College. After completing HSC, he joined Dhaka University in fine arts. From his childhood, he was addicted to music, recitation, and drama. His acting began in 1996 with Mamunur Rashid’s Aronnyok Natyodol. His first film was “Kalo Doitto” with the team.

Later, he worked with many other films including Sankranti, Radhang, Shatru Gon. He came in the TV screen by acting in Faridur Rahman’s Grash film. He earned a reputation as a skilled actor in the media within a short time. The stage actor became known to the audience through the Tal Patar Sepai as a lead character. It was directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui.

Career

Chanchal made his big debut with the Towkir Ahmed’s “Rupkothar Golpo” in 2006. He starred the Sonai character in the film Manopura which was directed by Gias Uddin Selim in 2009. He acted 3-period films from his earlier life. They are Sagor Jahan’s D 20, Bikram Khan’s Khowar, and Masud Sejan’s Istri.

In 2012, he sang “Tor Vitore Ami Thaki” in the freedom fighter based film “Pita (Father)” with Emon Saha. In 2013, He played a television film directed by Mostafa Sarwar Farooqi. It was a joint production of Bangladesh and Germany. In the same year, he acted in several Eid dramas. He was seen as a director in a film written by Rumman Rashid Khan and Ripon Mia. In 2015, she acted in Vrindavan Das and Salauddin Lavlu directed “Wife maane Istri” film. The drama was aired on BanglaVision on the occasion of Eid al-Azha.

He played opposite Shahnaz Khushi in the TV series, which was broadcast on BanglaVision from January 2016 in the “Sob Pakhi Ghore Fire” film. This year, he played a series of six films. Those films are Vrindavan Das and Salahuddin Lavlu’s directed “Iti Mirjafor and Love maane Valobasha”, Mahfuj Ahmed’s Ijom Unlimited, Animesh Aich’s Osso DImbo, Masud Sejan’s Wow Fantasy and Chandan Chowdhury directed “Challu Mamar Vagne” film. He also acted in the “Sobjanta Valobasa” film on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.

In October 2016, Chanchal was seen in the “Aina Baji” film which was directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. In this film, he played six roles, including the name Aina. He played the role of Misir Ali in the “Debi” film in 2018. Famous actress Joya Ahsan worked in this film. The film was directed by Onom Biswas. The film was based on the famous novelist Humayun Ahmed’s novel. He and actress Nusrat Imroz Tisha were nominated by Robi Axiata Limited for two years and contracted for eight advertising.

Awards and Success

In this film, he was awarded the Best Actor Award jointly with Ferdous at the 34th National Film Awards. He also received the Audience Survey Award for Best Actor in the 11th Meril Prothom Alo award. He received his second National Film Award for Best Actor for the “Aina Baji” film in 2017. Also won the Meril Prothom Alo Award in the Best Actor category under critic’s survey. In 2019, he received the same award for the “Debi” film.

Chanchal Chowdhury married Shanta. She is a medical college physician and teacher. The couple has a son named Soisob Rudra Shudda.
